My Story
"If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together."
– African Proverb
Born in Zambia, my journey has taken me through the UK and into the heart of Silicon Valley, where I’ve worked at the crossroads of venture capital, strategy, and entrepreneurship. I led the Draper Venture Network, a $2.5B alliance of VC firms backing 650+ technology companies worldwide. Now, I run MOTIF Africa, where we help African enterprises in sustainable mining, agriculture, and renewable energy access the right capital to scale.
I believe Africa’s future is built at the intersection of capital, strategy, and culture.
That’s why I founded the Capital and Culture Conference, bringing together global investors and African innovators. And why I created The Flight Risks, a virtual band exploring sound, identity, and the creative economy.
My passion for global collaboration has been shaped by roles at Shell, PwC, and the UK Ministry of Justice, as well as advising organizations like GS Futures, CRE Venture Capital, LIONS@FRICA, and Ashinaga Institute. As a Kauffman Fellow, I’m dedicated to supporting the next generation of innovators.
Beyond venture and business, I’m a musician, soccer player, and outdoor enthusiast. The trails of the San Francisco Bay Area fuel my creativity and keep me grounded. I’m grateful to share this journey with my wife and two daughters, who inspire me every day.
If you're building something bold—let’s connect.
