Breaking into venture capital may seem like an exclusive journey, but at its core, it begins with a simple yet powerful act: having conversations. In this episode of Pattern Cognition, I share my personal story of how curiosity and networking led me to a career in venture capital and Silicon Valley.

Starting with no connections in the industry, I took a bold step—reaching out to one person. That conversation opened doors to others, eventually leading to a fellowship and an offer to work in Silicon Valley. My story highlights the power of persistence and the importance of human connections in career growth.

I didn't know anybody. I reached out to one person. They introduced me to another person. I applied for a fellowship.

I got into that fellowship. I traveled to Silicon Valley and had a string of conversations. And one of those conversations resulted in an offer for me to move to Silicon Valley. And I know everyone who's in Silicon, in venture capital has. different stories about how they ended up there, but ultimately it comes down to that.

Talk to people.
